Generating a Multiple Stream of Income.

By Sandra O\'Brien

When you run a service business you offer your time in exchange for money. Your income is therefore limited to the number of billable hours you work. In other words, once you fill up your “work hours” your income will be at its maximum. In order to continue to grow your income it will be necessary for you to create multiple streams of passive income.

One inexpensive and fairly easy way to create additional income is with affiliate programs. For those of you who don’t know what an affiliate program is… you refer people to someone’s website and if your referral makes a purchase you get a commission.

There are many advantages to promoting affiliate products.
* No production costs
* No licenses to buy
* No sales experience needed
* No employees
* No merchant account necessary
* No stock or inventory
* No order processing
* No shipping
* No customer service
* You make money 24/7
* High income potential

There are a number of different ways to promote affiliates and you don’t even need to have your own website.
For an example you could create Overture and Google Adwords campaigns that use your affiliate link to direct traffic to your affiliate’s main product website. The key here is to find low cost targeted keywords that generate commissions greater than your pay for click fees. Once correctly set up you’ll be making money on autopilot.

Affiliate programs can be the perfect solution to increasing your income without tying up your time when done correctly.

Try these tips to get started:

If you have a website and want to use it to link to your affiliates, make sure the product or service is relevant to your sites content.

Don’t forget to have the link open in a new window so your visitor won’t have to leave your site.

Only promote what you believe in. Try to review the products and services you promote. Remember when you make a recommendation it is a reflection on you.
