I have been using 1st Page 2000 for about a year in my attempts to get some information into web space. Early mistakes made me try to stick to the KISS principle and that seems to suit my style. However, I don't want to get stuck in my simple rut and would welcome comments or suggestions for moving forward/making the sites better, or whatever.

Our motorhome website is at: http://www.severnvalleygroup.co.uk/index.html

My Family History stuff features at:
http://www.langhorns.co.uk/langhornline/index.html

and my foray into frames is in a website we made for a Family History 'reunion' (I'm not sure why we called it a reunion as none of us had ever met the others before!): http://www.langhorns.co.uk/reunion2002/index.html

Regards to all from a very new member, I look forward to hearing your views.

Hi David,

Many thanks for your helpful response. I think I laid claim to the validation badge at a point when I had successfully run all the pages through the checker (in 1st page 2000). Since then I have probably tampered with many of the pages without re-checking - an omission I should rectify asap. I felt that if I kept it simple and 'correct' it should be OK in most browsers, is that a fair principle?

Thanks for the encouragement to move forward, this is just the sort of prod I need! I have found it too easy to play with my sub-set of HTML, knowing that it works but feeling guilty that I have got complacent.

I have used the W3C schools site in the past, I need to re-visit and get some new techniques into my work.

Regards,

spencer

Hi David,

I agree that I should not claim valid HTML and have therefore removed the link from the site - I have started to correct some of the errors. Some seem a bit obscure but I will learn something from finding out what the checker regards as wrong.

I agree, you could use a fling of colors or graphics or something, but I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

It's so nice to see something simple for a change. I get so sick of sites that are busy and hard to navigate in.

They are very clean.

kudos 2 u :)

I do have a complaint about your top navigation

The links vary wildly browsing from page to page. Highly confusing.
