I just posted the following on the HTML Builder XP Forum (www.code-builders.com/forums/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl )
There has been a lively exchange on the Evrsoft 1st Page Developers (http://developers.evrsoft.com/forum/) regarding the ??imminent?? release of 1st Page 3. Part of this exchange has been a lengthy discussion involving Chris, the main HTML Builder XP developer. I took part in that discussion as well as 1st Page users tried to find out
(1) whether 1st Page development was ongoing,
(2) what the relationship was between 1st Page and HTML Builder XP (they're both different 'children' of the same predecessor program worked on by Chris and Napoleon (the 1st Page developer))
(3) what the motivation was for keeping the extremely active 1st Page community in the dark, and out of the development and testing loop, etc., etc.
This thread had gone into its 5 page when, after an absence of months, the 1st Page forum administrator (Napoleon) showed up and deleted the thread.
It is a sad day for the Evrsoft community. Its HIS forum and HIS prerogative to do so, but it is against every principle of free speech and enchange of ideas that I hold dear. Consequently, I will be informing the Evrsoft community that forthwith I will be moving my formidable posting skills ;) over to this forum.
And Chris, I hope you never pull a stunt like that, no matter how hot it gets in the kichen. :P
I've enjoyed it here. I hope to see a lot of my friends over there and will be as available to help folks as ever. But I can't stay here for reasons I hope I have made clear.

NO way!!! I can't believe this... well, maybe it is better over there. I might follow DC's example.

I don't blame you...but I was getting used to this vBulletin forum, it's pretty. lol
On a more serious note: I agree DC, that was wrong!

How long before this topic self-destructs do you suppose...?

( I posted this in another thread too but it fit here too)
AHHH! Good I thought it was me again! I didn't know what happened to that thread! I thought I said something stupid or wrong again! I am glad that it wasn't dbindal... because I would have been upset with him. I have started three posts and had all three deleted!!! What is it with me and new topics? I must grate on everyone!
(OK no one comment on that!)

Admin has sent me a long Personal Message.
I have encouraged him to make a clear statement to the forum on what has happened, and why, and what he is going to do about it.
I reserve judgement at this time, and urge the rest of you to do so as well. There is such a thing as going from the frying pan to the fire . . .
Maybe this whole "Grim" situation will turn out like this:

OK, the oddest thing just happened.
DCElliot sent me a message that he was going to the HTML builder forums. So I click on the URL and i'm there at the HTML forums.
Today I check my private messages again, to retrieve the URL, but instead of seeing http://www.code-builders.com/forums/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl I get
http://www.***********.com/forums/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl
Now, apparently, ADMIN or Napoleon or whatever he calls himself censored the URL (as if I couldnt find it using a search engine) to prevent people from mentioning the website. It also looks like we have to use h4x0r sp33k when mentioning c0d3 bui1d3r5 so as not to upset the censor.
And so...with this crap, I announce my intention to leave.
Take care,
~Zero Angel
EDIT: Aww man, did it again *Invokes a censor bypass*

I believe Napolean did a forum-wide search and replace. He later said he regretted doing this ???
To many childish acts ...

Actually http://www.code-builders.com is still censored out, and seeing as it still gets censored, I think its safe to assume that Admin feels no regret, and that its probably faked for some reason or another.
Childish acts indeed, so it looks like I simply have to use an ALT character to replace any combination of characters to override the censor. No big.

It is harder to reverse a global search and replace than to do it. There is no point in going in to reverse a ****** to www.code-builders.com/forums/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl - in fact, if the replace treated the '*' as wildcards, there is no telling what mischief it could cause. Could cause a global search and nuke of the entire forum.
Sigh . . .
We all might have to start from scratch.
Which might be a good idea.
Yes, let's start from scratch.

Speaking of sticking around, you old stick-in-the-mud (to a frog person that is a compliment, I hop [errr, I mean 'hope']) where ya been?
Admin has "done the right thing" as far as I'm concerned, but he knows he is "on probation"
Your sites are looking good. Don't be a stranger - we got noobs who need your help.

NEED MY HELP???? LOL!!! DC, you are quite the charmer, you lil' devil you! ;).
I love helping people, and am glad to hear that you have faith in me! Thanks for the compliment on my pages, I started reading Javascript just last week, dedicated. (I'd glanced through before, but not with any real seriousness)
I'm glad you replied so quickly, means you're still here. Hope Zero stays too, very smart character there as well. I have so little time as of late, but a tradgedy in my family has cut down my workload for just these few days so here I am. Will soon be "dissappearing"
until mid-April though, but will try to pop in when I can inbetween. Has the new 1stPage made it out yet? They said February (last I'd heard) didn't they?
Yes, and "stick in the mud" works great for me, 'specially if there's a fly on the end of it! LMAO!!!

Yeah Polly. I'll stick around.
Aside from the sudden reappearance of admin to snipe GrimReaper then disappear, this is a good community. I'll keep my eye on both forums, but this is the one that i'll probably be posting on most of the time. Thanks for the compiment, BTW.
