Just a question to GrimReaper:
Is Napoleon included in Code Builders, and is 1st Page 2000 the "brother" of HTML Builder XP?

Napoleon is NOT part of HTML Builder XP and I guess it could be the "Brother" of 1P2000, since they are from similar companies.

1st Page was released at the start of 2000.
HTML builder was released in 2002.
It is important to note that 1st Page was the first to have multiple interfaces. E.g. Easy mode, Advanced, Expert, Hardcore mode...
HTMl builder was later released, a similar feature was added, however the names were renamed to: Beginner, Advanced, Expert and instead of Hardcore mode it was called "Notepad" mode.

Hi All,
Yes, this is GrimReaper still, I can't seem to log into my username here, I don't know why, maybe my PC has just forget it's cookies and I have forgotten my password. But it is me.
Yes, Napoleon, HTML Builder XP does share very close similarities to 1stpage, you have known this for quite some time, yet again you have not mentioned them on this forum at all before. Why are you showing up now? why after I have posted. What I posted was a history lesson, people are curious about the similarities between 1stpage and HTML Builder XP so I answered them and they made their own decisions, I always have admired your product, it is a fine piece of software indeed.
However, if you want to take up some issues with me then that is fine, my ICQ number is on this board and you know my msn contact details and even my cell phone number. But quite frankly everyone knows that HTML Builder XP share a lot of features with 1stpage as 1stpage shares features with Homesite. And they all know from the post that you removed (the post is available on the code-builders board for those that missed it) that your editor came out about a year or a year and a half earlier.
Call me, post me, whatever if you have a problem but don't just show up on this message board again just because you are angry that your users have had enough of your release date promises.

It is also important to note that 1stPage2000 was written completely "on top of" David Brock's example source code (http://web.archive.org/web/20010607200707/http://www.dbrocksoftware.com/synmemo/Files/DemoA.zip)
(at least have the decency to start a new Delphi project)

I think 1stPage2000 is more like the bastard child of UnderConstruction98 -- unsupported and left by its original parent :D

Then an question to admin:
In September you said that you were working something that you had to get to a patent on, and I was just wondering if you had managed this.
Second:
Have you been thinking of finishing 1st Page XP? From the release date of 1st Page 2000 I have been using it, and i have been visiting evrsofts homepage at least once a week for the last two and a half years. And I just want to know why you never wrote why the 1st page XP has not been released.
I'm probably not the only one who want to know.

Here's one of the "official" explanations (excuses) that was posted on the EvrSoft site back in 2001:

Personally, I think it's a pack of lies.

I think we have beat the "Why have you not released a new version of 1stPage" to death. There have been numerous posts concerning the subject and nothing is to be gained by chiming in. I am reminded of a bunch of kids in a playground fight all standing around and getting in a free kick when someone is down and not looking.
Further posts on already answered questions will only anger the author of 1st Page further and will have a negative effect on its development. Enough is enough.
If you want to make comments about HTML Builder, then go to their forum and make your comments. It serves no purpose to brag about a Chevrolet on the Ford site. This is a matter of respect.
Least any of you think I am defending either of the two authors, then you have not been on this forum very long nor have you taken the time to read the back posts on this subject. Anytime you enter a forum as a new member, you have the obligation to bring yourself up-to-date by reading the messages from the recent past.
I would like to think this is a forum of professionals either web professionals or just professionals in general. Show some maturity or just sit back and read the posts of those who have reached the level of maturity to make a contribution.

I agree with ByteWizard 100%, I live in hope that we do see a new release of 1st Page and will continue to check for its elusive release untill someone from EvrSoft confirms the goose that layed the golden egg is Kaput!
:D

Admin: Following Joey's link...and reading that page, i have a question. Was a seven figure sum actually offered? as in at least 100,000 dollars? If it was, i would sell evrsoft to 'em, and use the money to start a new business...and come out with another free editor! Why didn't you? It seems strange to me that you would refuse that much money, for a bunch of people who you don't know, but later on...for months you would leave them hanging? One minute you pretty much throw away money, and then later you cant even answer a few posts?
I don't want to come off as....i dunno, mean, arrogant? I understand that you are probably busy and everything.

Yes it was, however the agreement did not allow me to go create another similar program..
