convert special character

as i write in french, i would like to know if it is possible de convert special characters in html codes in one operation... i am new to 1st Page and don't see any buttons who seems to do the job!

Choose Insert on the main menu,
and then choose: Special character symbols Shift + Ctrl + X.

You will now get a little menu with some special characters.
This menu, you can have floating around until you need it, or you can quick open it with Shift +Ctrl +X. Just click on the character needed to insert it at the cursor position. Does this solve your problem?
