Ive downloaded some buttuns off the net and on the site the buttons have round ends. When I put them on my site they're squared off and they stay square when i try to rub the corners off in paintshop. Any solutions will help thanks.

The square part is nothing to do with the button its just the backround colour from the site i downloaded from.

If you either coloured the square bits the background colour, or made the buttons a gif file and made that squared off colour transparant, you would eliminate the squared off bit.

Thanks I will try that.

One more question.:D

I've created a logo for my site with a nice chrome effect on the text and i cant find any buttuns anywhere to match, is it possible to put the chrome effect on my downloaded buttons with Paintshop or Photoshop.

Can you show the logo? It will make the work of finding the matching buttons.

I've been having a similar problem with transparent buttons. How do you make them? I am using photoshop LE, and I cannot find out how to make them besides making them into large .PSD files.

Start a new trans backround file and cpy + paste the current button, and 'erase' the parts you want trans.

You have to export it (from the "File" menu), GIF89a Export. The transparent parts will show up as grey in the preview window, so don't worry about that, it will be transparent.

GIF files index the colors used, meaning there can only be a max of 256 colors in a GIF, and it picks one of those colors to ignore (the transparent color), so basically it makes a regular gif file with extra instructions telling it to ignore a certain color, the default for photoshop being that medium grey, which you can change in the export menu.

you shouldnt have to actually erase the parts you want transparent, but it should be on a layer, not the "Background". just select the parts you dont want transparent and go to Layer > Add Layer Mask > Reveal selection, or the opposite, select the parts you want transparent, and instead of reveal selection, choose "hide selection", then when you go to export as GIF89a you'll get your transparency without erasing.
