Hi all,
I am looking for recomendations for a good host. My present one does not support ASP.
The site is for a business so I do not want pop ups or anything like that.

I note that your details mention that you're from China. May I suggest you try for a service in Hong Kong? A search on Google threw these up: http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&q=hosting+hong+kong
All the best!

Thanks for the tips. The Hong Kong ones seem ok but I will be paying with my UK bank account and the exchange rate is diabolical, see:

The on in the uk does not support ASP, which is my main reason for changing.
Any more out there?

Now *I'm* confused. You're in China, with a UK bank account. Hmm. [wibble]
OK, if you don't mind the occasional hiccup, Fasthosts (http://www.fasthosts.co.uk/index_home.html) haven't been bad to me; I have a personal site on there right now, and, while ocasionally the RPC server that holds their IIS can get a bit wobbly, it works OK for me.

Redcap, it's quite simple - I'm an ex-pat. Hence the uk account. I am an Englishman living and trying to work in China. A rose amongst thorns you might say. Please don't ask me about the locals I will be here all bloody night. (What do you call a beautiful girl in Shenzhen? - a tourist).
Seriously though, I came here two years ago with a job, but the management was crap and I had to leave (they blamed everything on 'the westerner'. So I left the town and came here, just over the border from Hong Kong. I am concidering doing a web site to tell everyone about my experiences here. Like an e-diary. Maybe not though, depends on 'er in doors.

Aha! makes sense, now! Ta for letting me know!
I'd be a bit... er... circumspect... with your blog/e-diary, matey. You may hold a British Passport, but they're a mite upitty when it comes to criticism, even in these... er... 'enlightened' times!
Never the less, the best of British luck with the site!

My wife once went into a shoe shop and saw a pair that she thought I might like. She asked the price which was 250 RMB (about 30 pounds). Whe I went in to check them out they told me they were 750 RMB. I walked. This is typical of what it is like here.
I could tell you more but that might spoil the image of China, which by and large isn't as bad as it are painted by the western press and politicians. It is just the local people that try and take advantage.

Not in this life time!!! Do you know how much she spends? She went out today to get a birthday cake for our daughter. You do not want to know what else she got.

ROFLMAO
I'll bet the reply was something along the lines of "I saved loads - it was in the sale!"
I've had *that* one sprung on me before, too!

Yes, and the one she used yesterday:
Her: "I goes realy well with the jacket"
Me: "Which jacket?"
Her: " This one" (she reaches for another bag).
Me: "Gulp!!!"
I think in future I will give her an allowance. God, that will hurt her.
