Problem: "Could not save text to stream"

When I attempt to save a file I'm working on, I get an error message that says "Could not save text to stream." The first time I had this problem, I finally reloaded the program. It worked for awhile, but now it is doing it again. Reloading didn't work.

Do you know what is causing this so I can prevent it? Love this program, but this is a big problem when I can't save my editing work.

This has happened to others.

Make sure you have any temp environment variables pointing to real directories, if you are on a network, work on your local drive. These are a few of the things folks have tried.

If that doesn't help, do a uninstall and reinstall, making sure you use the default directory choice.

What is your OS and operating environment?

Thanks for your reply. I am not on a network. I can't remember if I've had this same problem on my home computer or not (XP), but the computer at work is the one I get the stream problems. That is Windows 98.

Since the last time this happened, I've been carefully going into Windows Explorer and deleting those temp files 1st Page always creates each time changes are saved. Thought maybe the program is crossing over from the temp version to the new version or something like that.

Any further ideas? Right now I'm not having that problem since the last reinstall.
