I am a total newbie to web design and to 1st Page. I am taking some courses (at LVS Online) in HTML, CSS, and XHTML.

I have downloaded 1st Page and can do but the most simple things with it so far.

Is there any place I can access a how-to for beginners, or a manual of some sort?

What I probably need is something like "1st Page for Total Idiots", but any source of organized information would be extremely helpful. Normally I print out "help" files to get me started in a program, but those seem not to be available in 1st Page.

I apologize if this has already been asked and answered (I did try to look for same, but did not find anything.)

Thank you very much!
:)

Hey,

Anime_Lover, you couldn't see any replies because no one replied yet. I believe the number you're seeing, which was 18 now 20, is the number of people that viewed this question, there is a number on the left of that one, which would be 3 now, that's the number of actual responses.

First Page 2000 is an html script editor. I don't think you're gonna find much help in the help files on how to actually script or make a site.

Some good learning sites are
Web Developer Tools (http://dev.home.mindspring.com/) and so is w3schools (http://www.w3schools.com) and Glish (http://www.glish.com) but really, I could go on and on, there are sooo many good sites out there. You'd want to google this topic (html, css, xhtml) and you would gets lots o' good links.

Thanks forthe sites. I have pulled them up and will save them. Also I will do the search as you suggested.
Before I started learning html I had no idea what to do, not that I have a clue now :-).
What throws me is all the programs out there and the advise I get. One says get this program, another says get dreamweaver. Yet another says get Cutehtml, or acrophoibia, man what's a newbie to do? Am I supposed to full up my hard drive with all this or just pick one? And if I am to pick one which? All I wanted to do was create some web pages talking about my animals, child, anime, and my chats that I host.
Wow woe is me....woe is me

Also try this tutorial site: http://tutorials.findtutorials.com/index/category/89 or http://www.davesite.com/webstation/html/

Google search on html+tutorial or html+beginner

Thank you all for your replies.

Actually, I think I may have been unclear in my question. I wasn't asking how to design a site or how to formulate a web page. (Although that's another whole kettle of fish altogether.)

What I was wondering was if there's a place which explains, in excruciatingly elementary terms, the features of 1st Page, and how one could best use it. Sort of like a manual.
