hey guys.. this is my first post as you can see. this is more of a plea for content critique than style since i'm using a template until i get my own things worked out.

http://www.digitalbitterness.com

but yeah.. tell me what you think. or how i can make things more interesting. or new topics. basically.. any input would be great. thanks in advance.

Well,

It appears that under the section "things I hate", women is among the list. Should I quit now?

There is too much on the homepage. I didn't read any of it because I didn't know where to start. I would suggest moving the info about the pages to the actual pages the info is about.

The majority of your text is a fixed size and cannot be resized - it's too small and makes it harder to read.

Your site is backwards compatible, you have no doctype. This is extrememly important, I would suggest including one when you initially begin building a site, you can avoid problems that come with adding it later.

On your games page I would suggest having small thumbnail pics of the games, it might make it more interesting.

On sections such as "quotes", I would suggest putting that content into a scoller or something to make the page look more appealing.

I would change the colors of the headers to something other than the body text color. Some separation lines might also look good here and there to separate some of the text paragraphs.

On resolutions of 800 x 600 or less, there is horizontal scrolling.

Oh, and in your external css you don't need <style> tags. Also in css; comments are done differently than in html, they go like this: /*here's my comment*/

As far as topic suggestions go, I have no clue.

How about more info that makes a difference about you? Your hobbies? Your music? How you got the name invader?

The effect on the nav is nice.

Welcome to the forums,

That's good to know. Some of it was rough.

I agree with Bindel, and graphic-wise it does looks pretty good.

yeah.. i'm black and complain about racism. i make fun of everyone equally.. or at least i plan to. it's not even close to being how i legitimately feel.. just exaggeration for the sake of humor. and it is pretty vulgar.. which is also a bit of a ways off from my nature. but thanks for the input.

Think Chris Rock said it best.
Think if you do a search on a p2p you'll find something about "niggers vs. black people, by chris rock." Its about a 13 min bit. pretty cool =)

Chris Rock. Rawks...

Cool site, great content. Reminds me of Dennis Miller's rants.

In the midst of all the four-letter words, I see some gripping thoughts, such as adding a link to a silver chain around a rock star's neck...but the four-letters words which show how bitter you are just make me tired...any way to clean up the text and still remain true to your self?

The thing that tipped me off that this list might be a little tongue in cheek is that "sexist bastards (and bitches)" appears earlier in the list.

Note: People he asked for a content critique not a visual critique :)

I will say this, the content is difficult to read as I find the print fairly small, but then I am running at 1280 X 1024 (though this probably isnt the norm it isnt that unsual either). To compound matters, the way the text size is specified means I cant make it larger using the IE text size option. Cant really critique it if I cant read it :-/

OK the lunar lander thing could be addictive :-) good thing I am at work...

Note: People he asked for a content critique not a visual critiqueYeah, I know that but critiquing the content lead into the visual aspect of things, it has a tendency to do that.

You are a parent's worse nightmare :-(

All I can say is as a parent I would block your site from my daughter. The impression you give joking or not is hate and bigotry and there is enough out there as it is. Parents of teenagers really do not want to see their kids going to a site such as your I'm sorry to say.

I am not a prude by any stretch of the word. I think the 4 letter words and joking of hate is not a site to enjoy.

I too play the games you mention with my 16 yr old but again if I caught her on the site I'd be mighty upset.

Oh I am not bible touting mama ask my daughter. I went in and as I said you have such an imagination channel it where it can do the best...

I find it a bit strange that you like the atari type games as your background shows and being I come from that generation I do love your background.

So in closing take it as it’s given you have great imagination try and put it to better use.

Don’t be upset. I do like the site minus the so-called joking
:-)

it is meant more for young adults rather than children.. i'm sorry.. i'll be sure to add some sort of warning or something to the front page. i understand how most can find it offense and it definitely is most definitely a joke. but you can't please everyone, so.'.. i'm just going to do what works for me.

The young people I was referring to are the 16 yr olds. Hey I never wanted you to be different all I asked is for you to consider all that’s out there and focus your talents to helping others, those that want to perhaps build a site or at worst teach them something that you leaned that they can use in their own life.
I know beating the dead horse comes to mind but I wanted you to know the site is nice and can be so much more without the negatives.

It wasn’t meant to hurt it was meant to wake you up to your potential as a writer perhaps :-)

No hard feelings I hope as I said I would keep an eye on your site to see how you develop it.
I am hoping you will teach me a thing or two.

i just added forums... i know it will probably wind up some sort of half-assed forum for a site that noone knows about, but i thought i might as well tell some people. so if you're sick of being a no-name newbie at a popular site.. why not rule things at a new one?

::bump:: hmm.. i decided to ditch the clutter and go for something minimalist. i'm still working on amassing tons of content though.

even bigger bump.. completely revised everything about the site. tell me what you guys think about the new look and feel of it all... it's a portal system, so most of the work was done for me already. thanks in advance.

I'm no webmaster, so I couldn't give suggestions about how to improve the site technically -

But...
Although it looked pretty 'flash' at first, I got tired eyes reading white text on a black background.

And the home page is just too busy. When I come across this much information in such a confusingly confined space, I just get the urge to click the mouse and go somewhere else.

I may be old-fashioned, but I like sites with content, rather than just form.

I left the site not knowing what was on offer, why it had been launched, or what it was trying to achieve.

Maybe I'm just thick, though, so I shouldn't worry if I were you.
