Just wondering, is there any easy way to transfer ownership of one domain name to another person?

Or is it done by the registrar?

I think when a friend of mine sold his website, the registrar changed the ownership for him. I will talk to him and find out.

It depends on who the domain is registered with. I hope it is not Network Solutions; if so you are in for a hassle. Be prepared to send faxes on company letterhead which show the site owners name, etc. Their error rate seems to be over 50%. I have spent hours on the phone just trying to get the transfer done.

Which brings up the point of who/what is a good registrar? So far GoDaddy seems to allow the most flexibility for controlling your own site. This is not a big deal until you need to do something like transfer or move from one host to another. Then you will wish you had not made your hosting decision on price alone.

I have been looking recently at Http://www.powweb.com and they seem to have a lot of flexibility, but I have no experience with them.
