Hello,

I'm looking to go cable comp connection quite possibly.
I'm wondering about firewalls.

Which is better, a software or hardware firewall and are there any complications to either?

thanx a mill

Hardware is better but you would have to have some networking knowledge to get teh most benefit out of it. Software might be easier for a novice to understand (and cheaper).

I am using one of these http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&dept=18&WLBS=fs%2Dweb3&sku_id=0665000FS10022165&catid=&newdeptid=18 and it works great... not sure if there is a non-wireless one... linksys are also popular but the netgear has better security features last time I checked.

Yeah,

My dad does the networking stuff.
Price isn't a huge factor between the two, I want to make sure I go the right way the first time. Is it true though, that people can hack software firewalls? Does a hardware firewall affect anything else?

Edit: what's better, wireless or not?
