Hi there,

I am new to coding (approx 4 hours old!) and am not sure how to make a link in a menu frame pull up the target destination in the main window. Whatever I try it seems to pull the new window into the menu frame.

If anyone knows what I am missing I would be grateful for any help.

Thanks,

Damian

Hi David,

Thanks. I have been hard coding within the framework of a large online magazine for about three years, but have never had to put it all together to build my own site.

Now that you say it, it is obvious. Right, back to 1st page I go.

Thanks for your help

Right, it is now opening a totally separate browser window.

Architecturally I have set up an index page defining the frame set, and have built two pages for those frames, menu, and homepage, which works fine.

I have named them outside the body tags, under the head tags, and have added target='main' to the anchor. Not sure why it is now launching IE, although am pleased that it at least looks like it should when it opens!

Should I be defining the frame names within the index page as well?

s'ok, got it. Added the name to the src tag in the index and it seems to like it!

Will do, although I fear I may be back before then!

Launch date in 2 weeks and sooo much still to do....

Damian.
