I have been using 1st Page for a year and have never been able to find a way to stop it from opening in the maximized state which really bugs me.
Anyone out there got the the solution?
Thanks.
You can turn it of.
Options-->Genaral Preference-->Startup
and then you'll find what you want.

Is there any way you could whip up an interim bugfix copy of FP2000 to hold us over?
Assuming that FP3 is based on the 2000 codebase, it shouldn't be very hard.

Maybe I'm not following what you're asking but the solution
seems quite simple. When you intially launch 1st Page it is
shown in "Normal View" but it is set to fill the screen.
Simply make sure that the program isn't maximzed, resize the
window to where you want it and close the program. Next time
you launch, it should be the same size.
If NOT, check the 1st Page icon's properties and make sure
that "Normal window" is selected in the "Run:" field.

Is there a way to get rid of the thing that asks what version of 1st Page I want to use when it starts up?
What do you mean? The Easy, Expert, Hardcore, Normal icons?
The start screen? I've never seen a dialog such as you describe.
It appears there may be a beta version 3 out there but I don't
know where to get it. Are you using it?
