....and yes i made it, but it still feels like it's missing something. It doesn't look "finished" to me, but im out of ideas as to what to add to it in order to give it a finished look.
(ie: in the outer area around the alien)

Interesting effects. Its lacking something like a ticker symbol on it or a gui like interface, Something to show a computer like effect. be sure to make it transparent. =)

You know what would be heavy? If you gave the alien a thorn crown and made it a kind of eery Jesus was an alien feeling...thats just my thought. Kick ass art. And yur web site is pretty interesting as well (you need to ditch that clock though)...

More horizontal lines? I see a lot of vertical, and diagonal lines around the background... The many horizontal ones aren't as prominent... Make them a little thicker, see if that does anything for you... :)

He (she?) appears to be in the fetal position.. Maybe an umbilical cord???

Lightning... Never seen an alien picture with lightning that I didn't like... Subdued would seem better than bright, though..

The graphic technique and design work shows a lot of craft(wo)manship. I think what you feel, or don't feel in this case, is something that gives context to the image. The image looks "like" an alien but it has no nose-slits and a too human mouth and chin so perhaps we are less convinced of the alienness than we should be. The position is one of repose, sleep, meditation? The alien looks young despite the wrinkled skin texture, and alone. The reflective background on the right is cold and hard but gives no sense of place. Perhaps something else could be reflecting there as well - something that gives context?

You are very talented but must realize there has to be a combination of the design craft with the ability to convey a thought image as well as a visual image. You obviously had a sense of this when you posted "It needs something........"
