I've used 1st Page since it first started and quite like it.

Most of the problems seem to have been addressed for teh next version.

20 bucks is about right for a charge, but the whole thing should be there for the free - minus all the scripts etc. so long as a user can write their own, insert them easily into the program and call them up as 1P2K.

Also make it so people can write plug-ins like HTML Kit does. That will help solve a lot of re-writing the core program every couple of years.

All in 1P2K is very good and I hope the new one will be every bit as good plus....

At the risk of getting shot at with a tomato gun, I've never had a problem with adware that _doesn't_ spy on you.

I say stick an ad banner at the top of the free one, with customisable categories ('cause I ain't interested in a frickin' mortgage or stock tips), and then charge $20-$30 for the adfree version.

I've been using the ad supported Opera for years now. It's not a big deal.

Most good HTML editors cost $100 and higher. So anything under would be a great deal since this is still one of the best HTML editors. The only thing 1st page is behind on is its functionality with some of the newer codes (xtml, php, etc). I am just waiting for the new editor to be released so that I can purchase it.

I have tried HTML Builders. Hot Dog Pro, HTML Kit, TSW, etc. I always end up using 1st page for HTML because of the way it has been setup and its ease of use.

Some kind of free version does need to be made available for all the users who have patiently waited for the new version...

I like Topstyle for it's xhtml support and it is, in my opinion, the best CSS editor I've seen. It doesn't cost $100 either!

I did use 1st page 2000, and it is only really because of xhtml support that I don't use it now.

A new version with that support would lure me for sure!

Sorry MikeyF, it's gone up in price since I bought it!

I know there is a forum where you can buy it at a discounted price, though.
