I started this site on Tripod last August, using their online WYSIWYG editor. Bleagh.

So, finally got up the energy to learn a thing or two when I got my own computer, and here's the result.

Please let me know what you think!

A cat lovers dream!

I did notice that your form sends out an email rather than going through some type of mail script.

You may want to considered making the switch. You can get a free, relatively easy to install mail script at http://www.readyhelp.net

Just click on sample scripts, I found the first Cold Fusion script to be a snap.

Good luck!

Unfortunately, my server doesn't allow scripts. :( That's about the only problem I have with them. (And the account's paid for by someone else, so I'm not complaining for now ;) )

Though, if the site gets much bigger, I'll probably move to different hosting where I can use that stuff. For now, it's just the annoying email forms.

Thanks for taking a look.

I wouldnt pay for any hosting that does not allow scripts... thats pretty lame. If your funding ever looks like its going to dry up, I would start looking for another host quick. Who is the hosting provider?

Thumbs are really easy you do not need any special program to {generate a thumbnail} Any program that allows you to resize photos will work. There are no rules for size. You can choose whatever size you would like. A larger thumbnail and the viewer does not have to enlarge the thumb. Here are two examples one is done with tables and the second one in css
Tables Thumb size 120x90
CSS thumb size 90x75

Thanks guys!
MikeParent: The lucky thing is, I don't pay for it! This is the web space that comes with each email address on my ISP (Shaw cable) at work/parents' home, so I get it for free. I was happy with it at first, because using Tripod, it was difficult to wade through the popups and tracking cookies to reach my content - this one, at least, is ad-free. I am about to start looking for alternate hosting though, cause it's just ridiculous.
As for funding? I wish! :p It's all out of pocket and whatever time my cats will abide me not paying attention to them. ;)

bigdawg: I will integrate those ideas in my next update. Many thanks, again.

Ah yes, I noticed the ISP hosting tends to lack, you may find you quickly outgrow it. If you do, I suspect you may still be able to find some free hosting that has scripts. Of course you can live without scripts :-)

If you want to batch resize a bunch of photos for thumbnails Irfanview will do it for you and it is a fine little piece of freeware.
