View Full Version : Links that Search Engines rate?

I was prompted by another thread about link exchanging to put up a URL sent to me by a friend's husband.

It seems to differ from 'link exchange' per se in that it offers links only that are relevant to your site's theme.

It also seems to be free, but I think there's a stipulation as to minimum number of pages on a site in order to qualify.

I think I remember reading that if you're offered a link, you don't have to accept it, but can check out a potential link site first, to see if you'd be happy with such an 'association'.

Does anyone think this would work better than just 'adding links' to your site?

Check it at:

Opinions? I'll probably try it out, but I'm new at this game and still working on building my first site.

Am curious about this site and might have a look, a good place to start with links is www.google.com and check the page rank that google gives it. This is googles way of deciding how important a site is. If you have Googles toolbar this has it already fitted.

The higher up a search engine that a site is the better a link will be in helping you out with your rankings. The more sites that link to you, the more significant most search engines think you are.

The comment about relevancy to your existing site helping linking is a new one on me.

Hope this gives you some help

How do you find the rank that google gives a site?

I don't know how this happend but my site is #6 in the results for "planetsourcecode". And that brought like a total of 2 visitors to it. To get more visitors i would suggest putting your site on a site that rates other sites, that brought like 170 visitors to it. Another thing you can do is google bomb, ex, search on google "miserable failure", or make link farms (although google might rank you lower for trying to trick it)

Try to get many related sites to link to you and link back the them also for kindness.......Make sure you have adequate keywords also and submit to other search engines....
