Hi All!
I downloaded 1st Page recently and find it great of course.
3 questions, though:
1. Is PHP support underway?
2. Have you any tips and tricks on using 1stPage with PHP?
3. Is there a way to see .php files in the side panel?
Thanks very much and congratulations to Evrsoft people for this superb piece of software!

I would also like to know how to get PHP files to show in the side window.
When will PHP be supported?

PHP is sever side scripting language,so it means you can't veiw it on client side, you must upload it to sever.

there is a nice program called PHP Master Editor though (search for it on download.com). It has a PHP preview but PHP must be installed on the system (with Apache too). I personally upload to the server and check it.

you can also use PHPEdit (http://www.phpedit.net) or Maguma Light (http://www.maguma.com) ! there are some other Editors, but they are not so good like this ones and are not freeware!

You can see php in the side panel if you remove any filters. It would be nice if 1P2000v3 had a PHP parser built in, but it is not really not that painful if not.
I use OmniHTTPD as my Windows desktop web server. Very light, fast, and has good scripting support including PHP. Save your edits in 1P2000 and pop over to your browser to view the effect.
What I would like to see is coding support similar to the above mentioned tools (PHPEdit, et al). With the current level pf PHP support (read pratically zero) I tend to just use a text editor for script intensive pages.

There is a shareware program you can use for coding php. Its kinda setup like 1stpage( with less options) but it is easy to use.

I just stumbled across a decent PHP editor. It's called HydraPHP and it is very similar to DzSoft PHP editor, except it is freeware :D
You can get it at: http://www.coldmind.com/
Hope you enjoy.
I use HTMLkit regularly, it's very nice for html/php... and Zend when i'm really in the php mood. www.zend.com

I've been trying a lot of php ide/editors latly, and my favorite is DzSoft PHP Editor and PHP Coder. PHP Coder is free, and it does all the basic higlighting and such, but i enjoyed DzSoft's the most. Zend's editor is too huge, and costs way too much for my tastes. all the other editors are either just like each other, or have wierd quirks that slow me down.

DZSoft PHP Ed. saves hundreds of hours or work here at our company. It's wonderful both for hardcore PHP programming and for small modifications of scripts. I WISH WE HAD IT A YEAR BEFORE!!! IT'S TRULY AMAZING!!!
And recently we found that at their site www.dzsoft.com there is also a great Perl tool and a small, but powerful WebPad (we got WebPad for free when we registered the editor! great deal!).

You can use EasyPHP for server it's free and very easy to instal. It can run on win 95 to win XP. It is composed by Apache, PHP, MySQL, PHPMyAdmin. You can find it at http://www.easyphp.org
For developpement I find 1stpage the best. I only work with it.

If you d/l and use this, can you upgrade to newer versions of MySQL and PHP as they become available?

I don't need/want 1st page to parse/run PHP, I just want it to
understand and recognize PHP. For example, when I go to:
Options->Editing Preferences, I can't add elements for PHP
syntax highlighting.
When I go to:
Options->General Program Preferences->File Filters Tab
I can't add a new option for other file types/extensions.
Extensibility like this would go a very long way towards making
1st page usable for any language.
Another thing that would be nice would be allowing the user to
add custom buttons to custom toolbars. I use HS and it appears
that 1st page is so very similar. But it lacks some basic customizing
functionality that keeps it, imo, from surpassing HS as an IDE.

How do I turn off the filtering so I can see PHP page in the sidebar? Thanks!
