Well it now March, all old deadlines have flown out the window. My checking on this forum have gone from everday to every other, now to once a week. All i want to know is does someone, anyone know the developer(s) and can give any kind of indication that work is even still carrying on????

I have seen them post these statements way too many times in the past. They don't respond to emails or calls. They truly don't care that their userbase is drying, if not already dried, up. Last excuse I heard from them was "We are students and our time we dedicate to studies... " blah blah blah. They need to tell us the truth instead of telling lies about how close it is to release. Even the screenshots looked as though they were from the 2000 version. :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

That was me calling it FP2K8 becuase it was supposed to some out 4 years ago then this year and now another 4 years, that is if it is ever coming out.

I can't believe how many people here are whining and complaining, and calling the admins "liars". All that behavior is simply uncalled for and very, very, very childish.

The developers of Firstpage don't owe ANY of us anything! Do people have the right to be disappointed? Yes. Do they have the right to get mad and start chewing out the developers and calling them names? Absolutely not!

To those of you who call the admin a liar, perhaps you should look up the definition of that word. A "lie" is a statement told to deliberately misinform someone else. Mis-predicting a release date is NOT the same thing as a lie.

No matter what the reasons, it appears the developer has decided to take some time off from development... that's his choice. If he wishes to inform the rest of us of the progress for FP2k4, that would be nice. If he doesn't, that's his choice too. I'm a patient and understanding person... apparently some of you others are not.

If he "mispredicted" he should just show some balls and say so. Going AWOL and ignoring his userbase is only hurting himself and quite frankly it's just plain stupid. He is by no means required to finish this, but as a courtesy he should at least inform us of the status. Quite honestly, if he thinks this thing is going to be delayed till, say next Summer Break, because he doesn't have time...I honestly would be cheering the guy on rather than getting pissed off that HE'S IGNORING US.

And don't get me wrong, I really look forward to the day this comes out. So much so, that if it came out tomorrow and he wanted $100 for it, so long as I could try it out for 30 days, I'D PROBABLY BUY IT! A program that's 4 years in the making can't be half bad, so it'll probably be worth it. But this disappearing act he keeps doing is getting downright old. I'm getting tired of being ignored. For God's sake he's paying a fortune on hosting I'm sure and for what??? To ignore the user forum so as not to feel quite so bad for himself.

And I hardly would call it "mispredicting"...you go back and read his statements. He didn't come out and say "I'm predicting around November". I'd say he's more or less, mislead us...maybe not on purpose but that's what's happened.

Tell me, how hard is it, while testing a compiled exe to simply press print screen, paste, save, upload, and post. Maybe 5 minutes, tops?

There's something more to this than meets the eye, I too am beginning to question the legitimacy of 1P2K4. You can bet I'm going to relook at those "preview screenshots" VERY VERY closely...because something smells fishy here and I want more facts than "he goes to school". I mean for God's sake it's 4 years in the making? What the hell is this guy studying?!? I highly doubt he's still in school quite honestly. Because if he "bought" the company back, as I think the story goes, there's no way he's a senior in college...he's gotta be a freakin graduate or going for a doctriate in procrastination or something.

I just couldn't resist replying to this thread from Bob. Ever heard of the term vapour ware thats what the new version of first page is (software that will never appear) as you have already noticed the dates come and go and still no software. I've got a few free products on my computer and when I go to the forums for these products lo and behold the guy who wrote the software is there to answer questions in fact they think it's essential to be there. They are proud of there product and only to happy to help there loyal users. In contrast firstpage users never get any reconition off Mr Pham They don't even get an apology off evrsoft for not meeting the deadlines over the last 4 years all yo do get is more false promises. I have to ask but, why are you people still waiting why haven't you gone and got some other product like I have. I read in theis forum that there are viruses in the product and I have to ask why haven't they been dealt with by the developers why are they letting people down load software with a virus in it. C'mon people wake up to the fact that as far as evrsoft is concerned the lights are on but nobodies at home.

You know Dai thats spot on. Screw what everyone else says about sticking up for the team and stop giving them crap its a free product. If they can't even apologies for their f%ck ups then what sort of company/person are they?

Not being funny yeah the software is free WOW, there's loads out there, but no way does that give anyone the right to treat LOYAL fans like sh%t. All it would take is 60 seconds to post a) a new screen shot,
b) another crap deadline/excuse.
