Hello,

I hope this hasn't been asked too many times before, I couldn't find it in a search.

I have XP Home edition. I have used the program before on another system, without this problem. As soon as I open the program, the desktop changes color and the icons flash. The same thing happens if I open any file.

Anyone know about this problem?

I really like the program, but all the flashing makes me afraid to use it.

(I have already deleted the 6buttons script.)

Hi,

I posted the first message because I was afraid my system is going to crash. Is flashing of icons and weird color changes normal? I have XP Home Edition and have alot of free space on my hard drive.

Any body else experience this?

I have used 1st Page on all versions from Win95 through WinXP Pro and have never had that experience. Icons may flash if Windows is redrawing the screen sometimes so I'm naot sure what is going on. Sorry to not be of more assistance.

I wonder if you don't have one of the following two problems:

--Your desktop color depth needs adjusting and/or your display adaptor has issues

--Your computer is possessed (much less common)

Try adjusting the color depth on your display... (right-click your Windows desktop and select Properties | Settings). If this is the problem, you'd probably have to increase your color depth... but this shouldn't be a problem on newer computers. One never knows, however, since the symptoms you describe suggest a problem with your display (and I suppose one could have manually changed the color depth to be too low.

The other possibility would be that there might be a problem with your display adaptor (i.e., video card) itself, and/or with the drivers for the video card. Try downloading the most current drivers from your video card manufacturer's Web site, uninstalling the current drivers and installing the new ones.
