Yea, don't buy any ebooks and stuff, just spend some time reading the forums and you fil find a lot of useful information and guides there.....

I am a German and my English is not very good, but I will try.
I would not buy any ebooks neither. I have some bad experiences with ebooks. They are expensive and the writers will only earn money. But after I learnd not to do this I am reading in many forums, especially in American forums. I am not a professional SEO but I think I do my very best. And I compare several Sites with my Site. Especially the sites of my cometitors. I learn a lot about SEO. Espacially about: What can I do better.

there are many places to learn SEO and for me the best forum site to learn SEO is webmasterworld forum, digitalpoint and sitepoint, most great webmaster hang out on that forums so you can get benefit just to read what their thought about other people questions
