He guys...
I'm still beta testing my first handwritten website. Have to find a way to deal with various resolutions. I dont know for sure how my site will look at different resolutions.
It looks fine at 1024*800 and i would simply like to center that content. Center it horizontal is easy but not sure how to do it vertical.
Check it out and help me plz.

I have an example page of vertical centering (http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/d.elliott/vertical_center.html) that may be of interest. As for checking browser resolutions, 1st Page has a widget that allows you to resize the preview window to different resolutions. I use Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/) as my main browser and there is a webdeveloper extension (http://update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&id=60&vid=63) that allows you to resize your browser. If you use IE, you might check out WebTools Pro (http://www.iconico.com/webtool/index.aspx) from Iconico, a funky little outfit that also makes screen calipers and a colorgrabber that are really useful. WebTools allows you to set your IE to specific resolutions.
Hope this helps. I'd be happy to help a bit after you have read some more of the background info and have a good grasp of the concepts.

If checked your exampels. The one in wich you set the top at 50% and the margin-top at -0.5height.
is very good. I made a site with just one table and tried to do it. It worked very well and was quite easy.
When trying to do this with my site it became more difficult.
Setting the top at 50% works well.
My site and table is 612 in height. So margin-top:-306 should put it excactly in the middle.
But it doesn't it puts my site very high up. More like setting the margin-top: at 612. I've got no clue why its going up so far when i put it at 306.
Hope you can help me.
I never even heard of Firefox.. Is it a good browser?

When you visit my site it will display badly because of some code the geocities server is inserting.
To view it correctly you have to push the stop button before the geocities server sends the code.

No, yahoo is smart enough to realize that people can insert dummy body tags or not insert them at all so all that will do is make your code even more invalid. You can save the page, and remove the code and zip it and upload it to the forums or you can just save it and remove the code at a base href tag and open it.

I think that is because upon uploading the page to GeoCities it (at least it used to) would automatically add the pop-up code back in to the page - without bothering to check for the existence of the code....

The site isn't dissapearing anymore:)
Now i really need some help with my current problem.
I need to vertically center my page. If you have a single table the valign options dont work so what i did was.-- Thanks goes out to David Elliott (http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/d.elliott/vertical_center.html) -- i put the top at 50% my table has a height of 612 px so i put the top-margin at -306.
This should display my site exactly in the middle.
For someone reason it puts it more up.
Dont know why
Any Suggestions??

Mr Stilts: thats like saying, 8 years ago you could ping a server and it would crash. As you said its not possible anymore so they are smart. And i was talking about yahoo, not angelfire.
