FTP Support would be way out of site man...and if it was good support I bet 1st Page would absolutley blow up man, every one would want it (even people who wasted their money on web design software)...Just a theory, maybe not...but it would still be a neat addition to the program none the less...

I think that better idea is to supply a free third-party ftp client with FP, my suggestion is a co-operation with www.smartftp.com it's the best ftp client I ever used...

1stpage has FTP already, unless they removed it. I dont like the way it works though, so I use ftpeditor/wsfto (ftpeditor is best one even though few people use it).

a in-build ftp client would be great, when it can offer same functions like a professional client can!

but cooperating to a existing ftp client would be great too! i am using FlashFXP and it is the best i ever used

The best FTP client that I have used is the one in Dreamweaver. You don't have to locate the right directory before putting the file up, it already knows where to put it! (if you have mapped the site already, that is) I haven't found another FTP that does this. The only thing Dreamweaver FTP lacks is CHMOD ability, but I rarely do that so opening up another client isn't all that much of a hassle since you only have to do it once.

Of cause it would be a helpful tool, I cant seam why firstpage can add 1 to there software unit. as beginner not to many people can afford frontpage all dreamweaver these day.

Hi Ghandi Eximius,

I certainly agree with you. File Transfer Protocol - A very common method of moving files between two Internet sites. FTP is a way to login to another Internet site for the purposes of retrieving and/or sending files. FTP was invented and in wide use long before the advent of the World Wide Web and originally used from a text-only interface.

All the best!
