Yup, I'm a newbie. :D So please be gentle.

I'm trying to create a webpage which will have a flash navigation menu at the top with the content below it. What I want is to have the flash navigation movie clip remember which button was pressed and have that state active when directed to the correct page.

for example:

- User is at main page, with "Home" button active
- User then roll's over "Links" button and then presses it.
- The 'links.html' page will then load and also have the "Links" button active in the Flash menu. The "Home" button will be inactive.

I've been trying different ways, but can't get it to work. Can anyone point me in the right direction, or link to a tutorial which will help me out?

Thanks in advance!

You dont need flash to do that, use CSS

Hi there,
Do you think you could elaborate on what you've done in the Flash file please Tmmouse. I need the navigation to show which movie clip I've loaded into my Flash file in a similar way that you have shown which page is currently active. Any help appreciated.

There is no movie clip to load...it is a simple ..button release..... load page..each page has its
own swf file...with that page button highlighted. Each swf file is only 4kb
Have you uploaded anything?? Like This?? (http://tmckee.freeserverhost.com/evrsoft/butts.html)

Thanks tmmoose. I was making it more complicated than it needed to be.
