I think it would be a good idea if you start a post. to end it by either stating thanks for the reviews, or problem fixed. so many times I see threads where input was given and there was no reply like it was done or thanks for the info and problem fixed. Many members still post without the orginator ever coming back.
So as a moderator, Im asking members to at least try to close down subjects that have been answered. It's not a mandate but a mere suggestion. That way all members can tell you are getting the information.

Yes, I agree. You would think this would be common sense but with people being in a hurry most of the time they tend to forget to tell us the end result.

It may be because it is not a common practice in most forums to end the discussion that way because it is too formal and would prevent someone to post an informal reply.

The point being its only asking, if you visit forums, you will understand. How would it be too formal to simply come back and help others by posting your solutions or even to say thanks for helping you out!
If you read my post you will see the understanding. Look at many of the posts here and you will see what I mean gringo...ppl will continue to post asking questions from the original poster only to never return....
