spam blocking help

hey im new to this site, but really need help.
you kno what its like u always get some idiots spamming up ur guestbook.
well i was jus wonderin if there is a code in html or a meta tag or something that can prevent multiple posts in a guest book.
i have searched and searchd but cant find one. i have a guestbook coded by myself and would like to keep it and not move to one with a spam filter that has the rubish ad banners.
can anyone be a big help?

Maybe see hows some of the php version do it....learn by diving into their code......not much into php at the moment.

try searching for 'guestbook flood control' and then the coding you want it to be in, it can definately be done in php and there are reaves of php guestbooks, and shoutboxes that have that feature, so as term suggested you could look at how they did it.
