Talk with your ISP, get the l/p info and the upload dir, d/l FTP program, upload files using the FTP program and the info you got from the ISP.

I remember when i first started. Creating webpages was the easy part, finding out how to ftp was the pain in the arse.

First off you want to get a FTP program. Check out Tucows (http://www.tucows.com) and search for FTP clients there. Make sure you find a client and not a server.

After you install your new ftp program you need to enter the following information into it.

URL: the URL that your host supplied to you when you created
your account to upload files.

- This can be:
1. an IP address Ex. 123.123.123.123
2. an URL EX. www.yoursite.com

make note that you do not need to enter ftp:// or http://
befire the Address or URL.

Username: The username your host supplied to you.

Password: The password you chose when signing up for your
account.

Port: 99% of the time it will be 21

After entering the above information, click connect. Most of the FTP clients I have used are setup as follows:

Left side is your computer, the right side your host server.
You simply drag and drop your files from the left side to the right side. Ctrl button will allow you to select more then one file at once. While highlighting the first file and holding select button in and clicking the last file will select all files in between.

Hope that helps.

I'm a total idiot and I use WS-FTP_LE, which can be downloaded at This page (http://download.com.com/3000-2166-10018456.html?part=altavista&subj=dlpage&tag=search)

I find it pretty easy and intuitive. I hope this helps!

Better use SmartFTP (http://www.smartftp.com). =)

I disagree about the SmartFTP popularity, most of the people I talk with about it, hear about it for the first time...
(I think it will be pointless to tell what do the use after I told them... :D )
