Whenever I download 1st page, McAfee says there is a Trojan inside of it. If you dealt with that, that'd be cool. :\

this is old, search before posting.

it is not a virus, the error comes from a javascript window bomb within the buttons section of the program, you can insert them into pages and only then and only if you click them still will they do any harm.

and yes its in the read me first section......and its your virus scanners fault not the makers of the script...don't blame evrsoft. We will see if its included in next version

I just downloaded 1st Page 2000, and a virus with the name of "JS_LOOP.A" was downloaded with the software. This virus is NOT mentioned in the "Read Me First" file in the version I just downloaded (on 12-21-05). I did a little research on the virus, and according to what I found, this IS an actual virus.

That is because its not a virus!!, its a harmless js loop which you can easily remove. Since this is your second post on the matter . The readme discussed in the community area called readme first which you obviously did not read..sooo...once again, go back and read a bit before posting.

Or perhaps read the above posts...give us at least that!!

Javascript is for your information NEVER a virus, it is not Java. And in any case, .a is an object file, so you would need to actually open it by selecting it within the .exe for it to do anything and all it could do even then is provide information, not run anything, hence it not being a virus as it cannot execute anything.

JS_LOOP.A is JavaScript

In this case: This JavaScript repeatedly opens Windows on a system so that it takes up memory and causes the system’s browser to crash or stop responding. That and sometimes may even crash Windows.

It's an annoying little script that is intended to be a "joke". If you like 1st page, just delete the Javascript or simply just don't add it to your webpages.

Honestly, though... Why would Evrsoft include it to begin with?

I've been using 1st page for approximately 5 years I've never had a problem with it and although norton antivirus told me that I had one from 1st page they had removed it.
After that, I've had no other problems. Need I say More?

Well its the instascriptz package and nothing evrsoft created....really its a third party integration and imagine trying to stop production on the old while trying to work on next version of Firstpage..

Its not on the next version AFAIK :)
