It has happened to me as well. Usually when I'm trying to select text or do something else quickly.

XP, all the latest updates. Haven't been able to duplicate it by doing anything specific yet though.

The thread title makes what Chris123 experienced sound like what I reported in this thread on the "report bugs" forum: http://developers.evrsoft.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4495, FP2006 (final) causes a DEP exception whenever I close the application.
What is DEP? Data Execution Protection is a safeguard available in Windows XP but it has to be turned on by the user. To turn DEP on, open the properties of My Computer, click advanced tab, click on the performance settings button, and click on the Data Exception Protection tab in the window that opens. Click to turn on the radio button "turn on DEP for all programs". If there is a box for FP2006, be sure it is not checked. Programs that cause a DEP exception get listed there. This does not mean it is OK to tell Windows to ignore DEP exceptions for the listed programs!
Why turn on DEP if it is going to cause a program to stop and open a DEP exception window? DEP exceptions occur when an application tries to write to an improper area of memory. It is dangerous for a PC system's health for programs to write to wrong areas of memory. DEP stops programs from doing it and alerts a user to a problem with the program. If DEP is off, a program might cause problems that would crash the application or the system. If DEP is off, a source of helpful information is missing.
Here is the story of how I learned that DEP is my friend. After I turned on DEP, Windows Explorer started causing DEP exceptions. They also occurred when applications opened the Windows Explorer module. Eventually I opened the debug link in one of the DEP exception windows to see what was there. Among the information was a comment that the DEP fault occurred when Windows Explorer was processing an add-on application that I neither needed nor wanted. After I removed the add-on, Windows Explorer, the Windows Explorer module, and browsers and other applications that use it have not caused DEP exceptions. I have had DEP protection on for all programs ever since.

Galactic... would you mind telling me what add-on app that was you had that you removed? Off hand, that reminds me of Hotbar. Hotbar was/is cool and all... but I had to get rid of it after it was blamed for my system to crash.

Hotbar is one of the nastiest spyware out there and its really hard to get rid of. Not sure whats cool about it :)

lol... I liked the ability to change the background image of the menu area... after getting rid of it... I haven't searched for something else that can do it. I still have all the dolphin images I had downloaded to use for it. If you happen to know how to change the background image to the windows explorer and internet explorer menu area... I would be greatly pleased.

I do not recall what it was, unfortunately, but life has been better since I got rid of it. I think I would have a recollection if it was Hotbar.
I think the community would report some valuable information on the behavior of FP2006 if more of us had DEP enabled. I have added a paragraph on what Data Execution Protection is in my post here http://developers.evrsoft.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4495
