Feedback on Developers Portal

What does everyone think of the new Evrsoft Developers Portal @ http://developers.evrsoft.com/ ??

If you have any ideas or tips to improve the current system, please let us know.

well, so far it hasnt been helpful to me at all. perhaps this will change in the coming weeks, or after FPXP is released.

i cant say ive ever been a big fan of portal sites, except that they usualy have great forum communities.

The web is a bit oversaturated with devoloper portals at the moment. I think you guys at evrsoft should:

A. Concentrate on First Page 3 (it has potential if it ever exists)

B. Make the forum the most attractive part of the site. It's what separates the men from the boys in the developer portal world. Advertise it and trumpet it on your front page. Give it its own subdomain (forum.evrsoft.com or devforum.evrsoft.com or something) to further distinguish it from the humdrum of the regular site.

C. If FP3 is abandoned, I would suggest moving developers.evrsoft.com to the main domain. Include a link to the old FP2000 site, but I think that this site is a much better use of the high-level domain.

The rejuvenation of Evrsoft is cherished by all and I hope that the site will grow like its guestbook once did (over a year ago now).

I have to go along with quite a few with the fact there are a great many portal sites, however given time it looks promising anyway.

And the forum certainly has a nice style to it.

Yeah, did you make these buttons or are they templated?

I think a cool new Evrsoft logo could come from that sort of style, if you made the buttons.

Nice site, thought some features still kinda helpful, well I shall wait till FPXP is released...
Also I'd like to know if it is possible to write articles to the portal?

I think any message forum is always a big "selling point" for software. New users know they can get help quickly from more experienced users, and possibly the author / development team themselves. A lot different to sending off an e-mail and waiting ... waiting ... waiting!

The tools such as link pop, meta tags, fast submit etc are another service that should be popular.

Well, I have just returned to the site after a long absence to check on the progress of the new version, and I must say I was pleasently surprised with what poped up. Keep up the good work and I'll keep coming back! :)

When you ask the search engine to search for and show you New Posts, it should exclude any posts made by the search requestor.

I like the look of the forum because it is clean. It looks professional, just like the fine product it is about (1st Page).

I still run across people who pay exorbiant sums of money for "professional" HTML editors, thinking it will make their site look better. I shake my head, and marvel at their naivety.

Remember: Just because you have a shiny horn doesn't make you a good player!

Then again, having a "shiny horn" like 1st Page doesn't hurt, either!

i like it loads it helps me out heaps if you are a first timer in the web building trade. I keep going back fore more if i get stuck or have a problem on web site design. I find it very easy and helpful to navigate around, i have no compaints about the site except that what i want to know is when 1st page 3 is going to be released:D
