When I was opening a file, I set a favorite folder int he open dialog box. But now I want to change it. Is there any way to edit favorite folders?

In the open file dialog, there's a button at the bottom right corner you can click to add the current folder to your folder favorites. It then appears in a dropdown box at the bottom of the same dialog. That's a handy feature, but I made a mistake when selecting a folder, and I don't know how to edit that favorite list.

Look in the 1st Page folder for a file called "C:\Program Files\1st Page\favorite.bmk" Open this file with a text editor and delete the line with reference to the directory you added by mistake. Save the file. End of story. You probably should do this with 1st Page closed. I didn't check to see whether the file is rewritten as 1st Page closes.

I am trying to edit the favorites list that appears in the dialog box when you open a file. I found this reference after doing a search, but I have no file called "favorite.bmk" in the directory. Any idea how I can edit this list?
BTW, I'm using 1st Page 2000 and my directory is here...
C:\Program Files\Evrsoft\1st Page 2000\

Thanks!

Yes need to edit mine as well and do not have that file, have tried a few others but no luck. Even tried adding the favorite.bmk but that did not work.

hmm the editing of favourites and the favourites.bmk refer to the ability to set up favourites in the sidebar, (right click -select favourites) but it does not affect the favourities when you use the normal open dialog.

You have to modify the register... Look at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Evrsoft\1st Page\Directory Favorites" :p :p

You mean registry.

Start>Run>[Regedit or Regedit32 or Regedit.exe or Regedit32.exe]>Carriage Return

Another dumb invention of microsoft.
