For me, it depends on the content, and what's it about. It depends if it's within my interests. I wouldn't join a forum that has rude admins or members. If it's a discussion in regards to domain names, web design, search engine etc. I'll want to register. What about you? And why?

I would register on the forums if the forum is active, the skin is attractive and it depends on how old the forum is. Other than that. I wouldn't join that forum.

I would register in a forum that had information that I needed for my work, many have interesting snippets of information not shared nor easily gleaned from company websites or instruction manuals.

Generally I do the same thing, for more knowledgable forums if I need help with something or need info on something. Sometimes I will come across a forum that is just a fun place and I am bored and need something to pass the time.

I register with a forum if I scroll thru and see peoples wuestions answered. If I see questions that are more than 2 days old unanswered I keep looking till I find another. I like to join sites that are kept up and not look all junky.

If I find that the forum I am looking at is full of knowledgeable content and the people are not abusing each other then I will join. It takes too long to sift through pages of people yelling at each other to find what you are looking for.

I join a forum to learn. So far, this and the other site I use have been great, helpful and friendly.
