View Full Version : FP will not start without CD in drive

If I have used the CD drive and removed the CD before starting FP, FP presents a window "No disk in drive. Please insert disk". Pressing any of the three buttons - Cancel, Try again, etc - just brings up the same window. Insert any CD and FP then starts correctly.

Anyone else found this 'feature'?

Any relevant details?

Have already posted on separate thread http://developers.evrsoft.com/forum/showthread.php?p=24722 and just thought post here too as is latest thread concerning the startup "no disk..." popup.

- I downloaded via Evrsoft site (not remember exact url).
- Using Evrsoft First Page 2006 Version 3.00 UNREG
- Using very old XP Pro with SP2 download applied + the millions of ongoing updates...
- Home build system: WinFast Motherboard: 760GXK8MC based on SIS 760GX + 964 Chipset; 512Mb DDR-SDRAM PC3200U 400MHz CL3; Socket 754 AMD Sempron 3000+
Is really just generic inexpensive 'upgrade' to recently blown up old 1GHz Athlon Packard Bell. But for £180gbp I cannot grumble!

I had D: mapping a non-existing removable drive. By remapping to F: with CD-ROM at E: the "no disk..." issue stopped.

HTH

have alread said but MANY THANKs to Napoleon Pham for a very friendly GUI and totally sensible design... unlike so many others out there.

I have the same problem.
I downloaded FP from here: http://www.evrsoft.com/download.shtml
I installed it into my PC, it workds fine and all.
I installed the SAME programe in my lap-top... and it works only if there is a CD in the CD drive...
How should we fix this?

The lap-top is quite new, WinXP SP2, genuine, of course...

I have the same problem. Until I put ANY CD in the drive, FP will keep asking for it. No Cancel button. To think I was ready to plop good money for this thing! If any one has any ideas on how to fix, please help. P.S. Don't have anything mapped to anything. Running Windows XP SP2.
