Please help me
(your most accomplished web-heads!)
I am really stuck!!!
I try not to spam here, or ask questions that I have already read answers to in posts, but I have reached a "point" to where I feel I must ask the experts in this global community.
That said, here is my current situation...
I know, I know, you ALL help, and tell me to learn "dhtml", etc.
I truly am and have been working on, but am stuck!
I need to create a simple "menu" on the left of page, with images
in place of "bullets" and then the writing and links.
Objective:
Problem lies within now getting the document to allow me to go back up to the near-top of page and write. I have tried "<div>
I have tried tables, (Which I want invisible) I have worked feverishly on this for 2 1/2 days, (I did NOT go to bed last night)
and still can't seem to "find" this code....
your help would end a "virtual nightmare" for me...
and I have searched hundresd of websites for a similar code, to no avail...:(
Imagine, black background. Title name at top, For menu,.gifs or jpegs. mini-bullets to far-left, under the "viewable title."
Then, directly across from this menu, is writing. I have a banner-type heading above all of this (in my mind)
Can anyone help me place a hand-made menu to the far left, and writing to the right, with heading above?
I'd amost kiss your %$#@ at this point!
I have read page on page on "frames" but cannot find invisible.
Thanks roomies!

Polly

I've appended a zip file of a Banner & three column layout that may be useful. It is implemented with CSS and absolutely positioned <DIVS>.

To look at it, unzip to a separate directory and open polly.html.

The file is documented a bit as to what is doing what at least section wise.

If interested I can explain further what the parts are doing. It is possible to change the navigator to image buttons. I implement most of my buttons as CSS styles so my pages are small and fast to execute.

Thank you for the template DC!
I have changed the background to black, but document is not seamless.
How can I get rid of the borders and frames?

If you look in the directory you will see a file called pw_new.css.
This has most of the style information. Also, additional style information is in the <Style> </STYLE> section of the <HEAD>. You can turn the borders off by replacing where it says border: thin dotted color with border:none. Try that to begin with.
I've gotta go now but will keep an eye open tonight.

I'm glad to help out. You are sooooo enthusiastic and obviously learning fast. It is a pleasure for me to be able to share some of my "tricks".

LOL DC!
I LOVED the little froggies!
I appreciate your help, ( I hate seeing those "0 replies"
when someone asks for help, and no-one does!)
Wish I knew more, so I could help eliminate those 0's!
But with willing people like yourself, we newbies will get the hang of it sooner or later! (sooner if I get my way:) )
Thanks again, I should have looked closer at all the info you gave me!
