There's 3 different ways

Free Managed hosting (ie: Geocities) - Your viewers get ads like crazy and you can't display your images on other sites (like forums), but its free.

These sites usually have an 'upload wizard of some sort. Register first, login, and you can upload your pages through the browser.


Pay Managed hosting - You pay a certain amount of money per month and you get some webspace of your own. Good if you really like making webpages or you have a lot of money to burn.

You have to get an FTP program to move files from your PC to the webserver. There's free ones out there like Smart FTP and WS_FTP.

Host it yourself - Not recommended, i'm not even going to waste my time discussing this.

If you got the site done, your done with the hard part. First get a host. There are tons of hosting companies out there. depending on what you need there are many different companies that can do this for you. I have a free account at netfirms.com that is www.jonathancobb.netfirms.com that i have forgotten about because i like to use the cool features that i get for 7.95 a month at www.lunarpages.com (https://secure.lunarpages.com/tracking/cgi-bin/clickthru.cgi?id=jonnyfive ) . After you get a host then the easiest way is to use an ftp program. Easiest way i've found anyhow. Some of the sites have a way to put your site up for you but ftp is easy to figure out and is something you need to know how to do. finally your all set up. on the internet with your own site. I'd suggest SmartFTP (http://www.smartftp.com/), it's much better than any other ftp clients I ever used, and it's free as well.
