i find that 1st page 'hickups' a lot when network drives i have been previously using in the program, become unavailible (ie: i turn off my file server).

none of the other programs on my computer behave the same unless i actually try to access the unavailible drives.

anyway, this can be quite annoying and i hope it is cleared up in the next version of 1st page.

Yeah, the only explanation that i've been able to come up with for that error is that FP2k has a weird method of interacting with files on the drive where rather than loading them into memory they are constantly accessed so if the resource becomes unavailable the program is designed to re-attempt to access the resource indefinitely which would explain why CPU usage jumps to ~100% on my 3.4Ghz P4 when the wireless connection hiccups and FP locks up. The only solution I've found to avoid losing work is to copy files to a local directory while editing then re-save them to the remote location when I'm done, honestly, more work than it's worth if you save regularly but a solution none-the-less. I'm waiting with bated breath for 2k3/4 to come out to see if they fixed it.

I noticed when I use a jump drive then I get errors upon starting 1st Page and other weard problems occur. If I use a jump drive I will get all the stuff I need off of it then stop it and reboot before
using 1st Page. I had FP loose track of which file was which with two tab pointing to the same
file with different file names on the tabs. Don't know where my changed file went but I lost all
my changes. Arrrrg. Terry
