Greetings, all -
I am trying to understand how to upload the web page I created in Evrsoft. When I click the Upload icon, it takes me to 1st Transfer. It says to right click and create a new server. The New Server window has a long list of fields for me to fill out, but no field specific help to tell me what information goes into each field. They are: Site Label, Server, User ID, Password, Account, Initial Local Directory and Initial Remote Directory.
By the way - I am using GoDaddy to host my site, in case you needed to know that...
Thanks for any help you can offer. This stuff is way over my head.

go daddy would have to give you that information when you signed up for an account typically it goes something like this
site label is whatever you want to call it just so you can id it from others you create
server is usually the address or domain name either IP or domain such as www.yoursitehere.com
user id is what they give you when you signed up typically its sometimes created by you same goes for password
Account I'm not sure really as many ftp software differs. Local directory is typically your public_html aka /www/ directory or your root directory.
Initial remote directory is more than likely the same setting. That one may not be needed.
One thing I will say, first trasfer from evrsoft has been known to be buggy. I would try something else if I was you to save some headaches. Perhaps FileZilla or SmartFTP might help you....
Hope that helps.

I use WS_FTP Pro but that is a commercial package. I used a free version for years untill I finally realized I needed to pay for it if I wanted to help fuel their improvements ... gosh, kinda like 1st Page. ;)

I will also add something on what I use. CuteFtp from Globalscape, tried Ipswitch WS FTP once, won't go back, and never had any issues with cute ftp. What I noticed in ws ftp was the fact that it was not uploading files with many directories. Caused a lot of headaches.
CuteFtp is of reasonable price and I have not hesitated to upgrade each time.

There is also a free one called filezilla, it works hand-in-hand with Firefox. You can still use 1st Page and not use the first transfer. Just save your files and upload them using a separate program.

Will have to test that out sometime. So far I haven't noticed any problems.
