I've had 1st Page 2000 for ages, and it's only just started doing this, so it's possible it's a problem with my machine rather than the programme, but thought I'd post this and see if anyone else had the same issue!

When I open 1st Page, it takes ages before the various network drives appear in the left-hand submenu. When I change the submenu to the MyCode view, it again takes ages to load the various snippets.

It also hangs when I'm in the middle of editing, and when I'm changing from editing to preview mode.

I've tried deleting all the files and reinstalling from the setup.exe file, but this hasn't helped. I would try uninstalling rather than deleting, but I can't find an uninstall executable.

Any suggestions? Has anyone else had this problem?

I have had no problems of the sort you describe with 1st Page 2000. Have you tried defragging your hard drive? Have you checked for spyware and/or viruses?

Is there anything else that is running slow?

What was the last piece of software you've installed on your computer and when?

Not that I'm an expert but the above questions may help others here to help you.

Hi Spock

I've now changed to FP2006, as this "hanging" problem with FP2000 was driving me nuts! Unfortunately, as you've said in another thread, FP2006 is probably more buggy, but at least it doesn't take me five mins to type a sentence!

My copy of 1st Page 2000 runs quite fast. Could it be that you have SpyWare on your machine?
