Hi,
i'm having a problem saving. I've used 1st page for ages and had no probs, i recently reinstalled my os, win Me, and also reinstalled 1st page and when i goto save as, and then try and choose a folder to save it in the program crashes, and i ahve to end it with the task manager!, but when i try to save as and save it in the directory that first pops up(normally my documents) it will save what i ahve done, it only crashes when i try to save choose another folder to save in.
cheers

Hmmmmm . . .

There are a number of possibilities.

Go to a DOS box (go to Start|Run and type in command and hit [enter]) In the DOS box, type set. Look down the output to a line that says temp= or tmp=. Make sure that the directory they are pointing to exists.

Did you reinstall it to its previous directory - or had you wiped your disk and performed a clean instal of everything. There may be some "residue" from a previous installation. Depending on whether you have a lot of settings, MyCode, Templates and the like, you may want to completely uninstall and delete the 1st Page directory (you can put the myCode and Templates directories somewhere else temporarily) then edo the install.

Keep us posted.

hi again, i ran the command prompt, everything was ok, uninstalled 1stpage, removed any leftover folders and reinstalled it....same problem, but i realised that it was when i tried to open a particular folder to save in, i went to that folder and found that it had a couple of large files in it, 2 files of over 200megs, i moved them to another folder, and from then on i can now save to that folder, so my prblem has been solved, but i dont see why it should have crashed 1st page?

Ya got me.

Sometimes Bill Gates works in mysterious ways. :thumbdown

This wasn't on a network drive, was it? You could exceed your file space allotment.
