you don't need a tool or service...just do some research....SEO is overblown many times for companies who claim they can get your ranked.

I wouldn't bother with tools... Just learn the basics of onpage SEO (main thing is learn how to make your site 'google friendly', so it can crawl your site easy) - then build backlinks.
A little research goes a long way.
Basics off the top of my head:
1) Use keywords in title and H1 tags
2) Use alt tags on images - but dont stuff them with keywords
3) Have relevant content, with your keywords in the body, but don't 'keyword stuff' the text... make it readable to humans too!
4) Keep image sizes low, to allow quick load time
5) DO NOT link to dodgy sites... esp. porn or link farms.
6) css is great for large sites!!! (dreamweaver cs3 helps with this!)
7) Keyterms research is great... maybe use a tool for this bit - try to find long chain keyterms that are searched for lots, but have less than 1million results in google (hard, but usually possible!)
8) Link build with good anchor text... do not spam. use keyterms in anchor text if possible. - blog posts (our service for example ;-) are good, and high PR links.
9) Once indexed, keep putting up more content, new pages... as much relevant content as possible... oh, and
10) Make sure you interlink your pages, so the google spider can find them all easily...
That is just the basics off the top of my head... URLS removed if i can be of help any more.
