View Full Version : Could I get some advice?
Would someone be kind enough to check out this page at http://saintshistory.netfirms.com/1983.htm .
I've been playing around with some things and could use some pointers. I'm trying to just get the layout of the page looking not so jumbled. I'm sure there's some CSS tricks I could use that I don't know about.
Any other critiques would be appreciated.
Thanks so much.

I personally cannot stand garish flashing. I suspect everyone who visits your site is a winner ??
CSS can definitely help. I would start here (http://www.glish.com/css/) and move on to this site (http://www.web-building.com/coding-css.php3) which has many more choices.
I also think the text is too crowded. Margins and more white space will improve things.

Sorry, but I've found that free web hosting is worth every penny. This one I have now puts banners on the pages.... but it offers CGI, which I will need to put up some things in the future.

Agreed, that is why I posted this thread, to get some feedback and some ideas on what to do.
Is your page is about the saints. Go with...
x Black background
x White Text
x Gold Table Borders... Maybe dark gold. You know, saints gold.
The reason I didn't choose these colors is because almost every other Saints' site (all 3 of them) use those colors. I was trying something different. Maybe in the future I will change the colors.
I'm trying to keep the site very simple as I am seriously lacking in graphics skills. I'm also trying to get the hang of CSS, and will check out those links you provided soon ByteWizard.
Thank you very much for your input.
PS-what part of Louisiana are you from Master Austin?
Been awhile since I've been in your neck of the woods. I was going down to Venice every once in a while for some work, but's that's been a couple of years.
I'm in New Iberia, that's about a 2 hour drive south-west of Baton Rouge.
Anyway, I'd love those images. I'm sure that I could find some use for them somewhere on my site.
Thanks again.
Phil
