how do i use the firefox internal browser in the 2006 eversoft firstpage

and IExplorer. I designed my pages using the IE browser but i see some different looks when i load my page into firefox browser.

I assume these are the only browsers i really need to check in since a majority of internet user use these.

Also, why are my pictures showing up great in internet explorer and not showing up in firefox (it looks as if the code is pointing to my hardrive even though i checked it and uploaded to my server with it pointing to my server picture. It looks as if it is changing the code.

Why doe my audio show up in IE as the right size but when i open firefox it enlarges

Also, my line spacing seems to change from ie to firefox browsing.

I would like to design my pages using firefox as the internal browser but eversoft says under the view engine menu "switch between edit preview tabs option" that my mozilla control is missing (i though their was security issues with this and that i should download firefox and and thunderbird immediately) and you must use mozilla (not firefox) to use it as preview engine.

eversoft says use mozilla but i was told on mozillas site to download firefox.

what should i do? what do i download and how do i do it. i was told firefox browser has less issues and bugs and that i should design my pages using that browser as a test and use IE as secondary.

thanks

Mozilla, Firefox and Netscape browsers all use the Gecko rendering engine. It's easy enough to use Trident, the IE rendering engine, with windows software, but you normally can't use any other browsers internally in PC programs.

An exception of sorts was made for the Gecko rendering engine with the creation of the Mozilla activex control (http://www.bradsoft.com/support/mozillactl.asp?app=topstyle). With this, assuming you have Firefox installed, your PC programs which are written to use the Mozilla activex control will use Gecko rendering as well as Trident.

So basically, install Firefox and go to the link above and get the software download. The link below is the official site link, but it's harder to tell which download you need.

Note 1: The Mozilla activex control (http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/mozilla.htm) has not been updated in some time and isn't fully compatible with the current Gecko engine, so it's Gecko rendering may not accurately reflect what a real Gecko browser such as Firefox will display.

Note 2: You should always try creating your page so it looks right in Firefox and Opera if at all possible. If it's not possible, make it possible if you're doing this professionally. Design for these browsers and check in them as well as IE 6 and 7 as your work progresses. That way you can catch problems when they arise, and it's much easier to fix problems that occur in IE but not Opera or Firefox, than it is to fix problems which occur in Firefox and Opera rather than IE.

Might I also suggest that it is worth installing Safari and seeing how your pages look in that. Good Luck.
