Hi all,
I need to create the symbol for "degree" (in relation to temperature) in html. I have the manner, (°) but whenever I insert it it affects ALL of the text behind it, changing it from
tahoma to something that looks more like roman or gothic. I have moved the other writing away from the degree code, I have even inserted a "change back to" the tahoma font tag after the degree,
but to no avail. Can anyone help me figure out how to fix this?
Thank you very much,

:joy:

HERE IS THE PROBLEM

a minimum of 61 °. Keep moderately moist,
with water not containing too much lime. High humidity, above 60%></td>

Okay,
thanks D. Give me a few minutes to get it uploaded.
It will be http://hometown.aol.com/orchidzz/houseplants.html
You can find it under the "Ceropegia" plant listing at the bottom of that paragraph. I had the code up in the middle on other
paragraphs, but moved them so as to stop the effect of changing
the text after it.

Are you using
& #176 OR & deg; (without the space after the &)

I found this ASCII Chart (http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_entitiesref.asp) by looking in The Web Tools (http://dev.home.mindspring.com) :D

I am using the "& deg;" to make it. Thanks Joe, I saved that website to my faves and will go check it out now!
Happy new years!

Never fear, Nichole dear, I'll always be your "special character" :p

I'm on vacation and have to be very selective re online - connection through a phone system that still uses pulse dialing.

It should be seen on about the second or third plant listing down from the top. ;)

****Okay, this is weird...I am editing my above statement by adding this, I just visited the link I put in this page, and it IS showing up properly in this link. But when I "Preview" in 1st Page
or from my link saved in "My Favorites", I get the screwed-up text
behind the " & deg;" does anyone know why this is?????
hmmmmmm..........

I noticed on your site that you sometimes use the degree symbol that is giving you fits and sometimes you spell out the word "degrees". Why not eliminate the pain and alway spell it out. There is something to be said for consistency.

Along those lines, your site might be improved if the images were all the same size and with a consistent thin border...:)

Sorry took so long to get back to all of you peoples who posted herew to help me,
Thanks DC, I knew you'd be back! ;)
Thanks to you also, Dbindel, for the congrats & the "bug-find" ;)
And Byte (I think it was you)....that page is not finished, DBindel needed to see what was happening, so it was only posted so he
could help. I can handle criticism, but at least let me finish something before ya 'rag on me?" LOL I am/was working to make the changes anyways, but I really DO appreciate your concern, when I'm finished, then take a look and help me with
whatever is going on there. You guys are much more advanced than me and I can always use the help! And congratulations on those posts too! I'll only reach that if I can think of some more questions! hee hee :)

Whew! I sure was hoping you didn't care for froglegs!!!:)
That is so terrible anyway, to kill an entire frog
just to get that little scrap of meat off of a scrawny lil' leg!
Glad to see you agree!
