please be gentle. . . . LOL , keep in mind i just made this site (its my first) before finding this forum , I look foward to being ripped to pieces :) its not quite done yet only afew links work , just wanted to get your take on the style ...suggestions ?, comments ?

The site is interesting. Perhaps you should check out the Mouse Mods link, as I had trouble getting it to work. Tried twice.

The concept of a splash screen is okay when it's software on the local system. On the Web, maybe it would be better as an About page. You know what I don't recall seeing? The old concept of an "easter egg," a little graphic gizmo hidden for people to hunt out. This seems a way to reward the repeat visitor, but be sure to mention it. Perhaps a reward for the first to find it.

The Gosomer logo "blur" effect was a little hard on the eyes. Also there is a little disconnect on navigation. The site should show what's available, where you may want to go, where you are. Selecting a button like Projects causes that button to disappear, replaced by Home. It might be better to keep the Projects button, but dim or somehow visually set it as "visited". A heading of where you have landed -- Projects -- on the page would help further.

please please please a "skip intro" link for us flash-challenged old surfers. The audio was a bit of a shock too - the last thing you want when surfing at work is sudden music coming out of your laptop!
I stopped dead at that point - I hope you also do a non-flash version.

I haven' t had a chance to get into the nuts and bolts of 1st Page 2000 yet, but looking at your website, was it all done with 1P2K?

I have to agree that some of it was a little hard on the eyes ( must get them checked out ) as it is a strain generally viewing a PC for long lengths of time anyway.

I have a family myself and the pictures of your children are great. They look like they know how to have fun! :D

Thanks for your feed back , its very much appreciated . ill start with the "skip intro in flash" i tryied but couldnt pull it together , since this is my first for all , flash , web . im working on a shorter intro (if any) with music thats lighter on the ears...LOL. as far as the backround pic , its kinda a family joke , the image is a Mcfairlane doll that somhow became associated with the name "GOSOMER" which is a respelling of the production name of my first computer (MAC G3 300) Im still trying to find a style , so im trying all thats avalible , im not a professional so im not being very conservative (sorry if i hurt your eyes..ha ha ) im sure as the novilty wears off , the flash will die down . but for now im just having to much fun .....THANKS AGAIN !

Hi!

A few little things apart from what the others haven't commented on.

The spelling on the buttons have an apostrophe when they shouldn't. You have, for example, "Laptop's" and "Photo's" and as far as I can see they should not have the apostrophe.

Ditto with the links behind the "Photo's" link; there should be no apostrophe at all.

The links behind the "Case Mod's" (sic), "Mouse Mod's" and "Laptop's" don't work.


Overall the site doesn't have a set design; the technical stuff was good to read (a long time since I messed with Ohm's Law for my GCE Physics) but the layout was different to your home page which was different again to your personal stuff.

and on 1280 x 1024 the link are every where if you push a buttun left there will come buttons right let the buttons come onder the link you pushed
