Introduction
This article makes part of a series of 20 articles. The subject of this series is the creation and promotion of a website as a cost-effective method to establish a profitable home based business on the Internet.
In my previous article, “Achieving financial freedom with Network Marketing on The Internet – Part 4 - Pagerank - What is it - How it can affect the success of your business”, I have explained to you what Pagerank is and the reason you have to obtain and keep a high Pagerank for your web pages, especially your home page. In this article I will explain to you what “Link Popularity” is and why it is vital for your home business to work hard to build it.
In my previous article, “Achieving financial freedom with Network Marketing on The Internet – Part 14 – Front Page Link Exchange – When to do it – How to do it ”, I have analyzed the method to find the right websites to exchange front page links with.
In this article I will present you another method that can assist you in building your link popularity (LP), which is to pay for important links.
Hiring Links from other pages – Pay to become important
The last issue to discuss at this point, regarding the creation of your LP, is the method to get strong links from important websites of similar keywords to your theme by paying.
It is the same with paid advertisement. In paid advertisement you pay a monthly fee for a link to be inserted in one of the pages of a website with a high position in the listings of Search Engines for your keyword. This way you get well-targeted visitors.
But, if the link to your website resides in a page that has PR of 4 or higher, then you do not only receive visitors, but also this link contributes to your LINK POPULARITY (be careful, this happens only if your URL exists in the text of the advertisement). This way you get a good link, which is also not reciprocated and this is important. Do not pay more than $15 per year for such a link. Be sure that the page you get the link from has a PR of 4 or higher.
You may also find websites who accept to put a link to a number of their pages or even to all of them for an annual fee. If this website has a theme similar to yours and webpages with good Pagerank, then this will really help your Pagerank and the importance of your webpages.
Of course, in any case expect to see other webmasters following your steps and trying to make the same deals with those website.
An example of paying to get a link is the first link in the top of the home page of (www.wahm.com)
This website, (www.wahm.com), appears first on the listings of Google for the keyword “work at home”.
And the webmaster hires the very first part of his home page. This webmaster sells advertisement space also in other pages of the website. If you can get a text ad with your URL in the link (this is very important – some webmasters do not place your URL in the link, they just redirect the visitor to your link through programming code) and in a good price (not more than $15 a year), then do it.
The first link in wahm.com cost hundred of dollars for one week. Don’t even think about it. It was just an example.
