Bringing traffic to your website

By Cathy Goodwin

Q. How do I link a website so that people are led to it without me having to do too much marketing outside the web?

A. Once you've got a website up and running, you'll have no trouble exchanging links! In fact, you have to be selective: Do you want to link to a casino or a porn site?

I've identified three ingredients to building traffic -- but you can't just add water and stir. You have to learn how to vary the mix for your own product and market.

#1: Choose keywords that your target market uses to find your website. You may vary keywords from one page to another.

#2: Submit your site to search engines. I use (http://www.movinglady.com/netlinks.html#freesearch)

#3: Articles will bring traffic to your site, but you have to send out five to ten articles a week, target them to your market, and be consistent.

I am horrified when people tell me they spent a whole weekend or even a week writing one article! You should be able to write your article in an HOUR or less! And if you're going to use articles for self-promotion, you'll have to.

You will never stop marketing completely, but you can do all your marketing on the web.
