Go West Young Man

"There's Gold In Them There Hills"

It was the cry of a generation and the chance of a lifetime.

An unprecedented opportunity for the common man to shake off his shackles and follow his dreams of a better life.

The way was hard and filled with frustration for there were no maps to success, no instructions to follow. This was uncharted territory.

But for those who persevered and learned from their mistakes, fortunes were made and legacies created.

For those few imaginative entrepreneurs who saw the opportunity in time and acted without hesitation, the end result was golden.

But more often than not, the dreams went up in smoke.

Tens of thousands watched and waited to see how the pioneers fared.

And then....it was too late.

Finding only the same shackles they'd left behind, thousands came home worse off than when they had left, while thousands more stayed on to dredge out an existence for themselves and their families. Having to be content with the leavings of those who came before.

Does any of this ring a bell? It Should!

"Go 'Web' Young man. There's gold in them there hills."

The analogy is not as farfetched as you might think.

The World Wide Web is the Wild Wild West of our time.

We stand at the crossroads of a revolution and we , all of us, must decide whether to join in or be left behind.

The internet is changing our lives and our way of doing business, and the opportunities abound.

"The way is hard and filled with frustration for there are no maps to success, no instructions to follow. This is uncharted territory. But for those who preserve and learn from their mistakes, fortunes will be made and legacies created. For those few imaginative entrepreneurs who see the opportunity in time, and act without hesitation, the end result will be golden."

Sound familiar?

Just like the Wild Wild West, the 'Wild Wild Web' is attracting all segments of society.

There are entrepreneurs, professionals, workers, sheriffs and crooks.

It's unfortunate, but wherever people are making money, there will always be thieves. Con artists out to make a fast buck by fleecing the unsuspecting.

But Make No Mistake...There are many fine programs, by which one can make a good living.

These programs allow you to work from your home, and raise your own children , instead of letting the childcare people do it.

They also give you the satisfaction of being your own boss and choosing your own hours.

But beware the snake oil salesmen, they are everywhere!

Never be taken in by the hype. Do the research before you leap.

Most good programs will have testimonials with contact info for the authors of their testimonials. Don't be afraid to contact them.

Sure, at the time they wrote the testimonials, they were obviously enamored with the program or product (otherwise their letters wouldn't have been published).

But as is often the case in life, the illusions of grandeur soon wear off and reality sets in. You might be surprised at the answers you get.

Everyone offers a guarantee today, but some of them aren't worth the silicone they're written on. Read them carefully and look for the loopholes.

Such as:

'If after one year, you've followed our comprehensive course and not doubled your business, We'll gladly refund the full purchase price.'

Sounds pretty good doesn't it?

Can you prove that you followed the course to the letter for a year?

Not many of us can!

One or two well placed words can be very misleading.

Don't get me wrong! There are many fine programs in cyberworld. Just do your due diligence and you'll be fine.

I'll say it again;

Beware the Snake Oil Salesmen, They're Everywhere
