How to create a customized Favorites Icon

If you have ever visited sites such as Yahoo and added them as a favorite, you would have noticed that the icon is very different to other favorites in your menu.
Here's how it's done. This works on IE5, I'm not sure about other browsers. Test it out by going to (www.tamingthebeast.net) and adding it to your Favorites
----------------------
Create a new image 16x16 pixels in your favorite graphics program.
Drop the number of colors to 16 to minimize file size
Create your graphic (okay, I know-16x16 pixels doesn't give you much room to be creative!)
Save it as a gif.
Use an icon editor or similarly capable graphics program to open it. If you need an icon editor, email me and I'll send you a link to a free copy.
Save it as favicon.ico in the root directory of the web.
----------------------
This will help make your Favorites listing stand out from the rest........
The file size is very small, so it won't bug your users. The Taming the Beast icon is around 318 bytes.
