How To Build A Website

By Rob Wiley
Posted Tuesday, June 22, 2004

That is a good question. How do you build a website? Where does one start that has no clue about web page design? First we assume that you have access to a computer and to the internet. Once that goal is accomplished. You have open reign. There are literally thousands of ways to create a website. You can hand code (manually entering all of your html) or use tools to do it for you.
Since you are new to web page design I would suggest using a tool to help build your pages. Tools like: Macromedia Dreamweaver and Adobe GoLive are a couple of good tools to start with. Microsoft offers FrontPage, which is very easy to use. The problem is the code FrontPage generates. If you are not used to viewing html for editing purposes it can be very difficult when you want to edit your web page in FrontPage by hand. This is because FrontPage puts in a lot of tags that are not necessary for HTML. Once you find an editing tool that you are comfortable with, you can follow the users manual to create your page.

If you have questions in regards to page design or site development, post a question at NADmedias Tech Forum. Or if you would like to contact a professional about your questions, search through NADmedia Tech Directory. There are Hundreds of New Media Professionals listed in the Tech Directory that can help you with your needs.

I hope this article has been helpful. Happy page building!
